Blood is commonly identified as a necessary and valuable component of human life. Blood cannot be replaced with any other element. Education has made a change among the students about blood donation. The majority of the population have a misunderstanding that through blood donation there will be the risk of getting infections and physical weakness a person donates blood wholeheartedly because he feels that it is the duty of an individual for the benefit of the society. Blood donation is a benefit for both the recipients and donors. The donated blood becomes useful for the donor when it is required for himself.

Our group will be organizing these camps with the aim of extending health and safety measures to its individuals/residents and employees and as part of its efforts at extending wide support to community welfare initiatives.

The health of our citizens is of prime importance to us and therefore, we constantly strive to provide our services with health check-up facilities. Most of their time is spent on our project sites, and it becomes of utmost importance to conduct these camps regularly for safeguarding their health. Such camps not only help in diagnosing the health conditions of the workers but also in preventing the onset of any kind of disease. In the context of blood supply, the term ‘disaster’ refers to special characteristic events leading to the below mentioned needs:

  • Suddenly requiring a much larger quantities of blood than usual.
  • Temporarily restricting or seriously affecting a blood bank’s ability to collect, test, process, and distribute blood.
  • Temporarily restricting or preventing the local population from donating blood, or restricting or preventing the use of the available inventory of blood products; this situation requires immediate replacement or resupply of the region’s blood inventory from another region.
  • An unexpected influx of donors, requiring accelerated drawing of blood to meet an emergent need elsewhere

In a disaster, the coordination between the hospitals and blood banks in the affected area should be optimal. The assessment of immediate (i.e., within the first 24 hours) and short-term need for blood is the responsibility of the hospital which then communicate that information to the affected blood bank. Assessing the actual blood transfusion needs is a prerequisite and a very crucial step. Initial estimates of blood requirements in an earthquake are often exaggerated. The requirements for blood in large disasters are mainly calculated from the number of people injured who survived long enough to be presented for care and the amount of blood used in providing that care. A complete list of all consumable materials and vendors who can supply them should be readily available. The Blood donation camp organized by Prakriti Foundation has Several enthusiastic participants as a volunteer. Prakriti Foundation service to the nation and citizens who are in need during difficult times. Blood donation Camp was a tribute to our National Heroes on the occasion of Indian’s 72nd Independence Day. The program continued for the whole day with full enthusiasm. Every donor had to pass through the preliminary medical tests like BP, Hb, weight, etc. before donating the blood. Blood donation is a noble cause, and every blood donor has contributed towards community development.

We would like to express our gratitude to our volunteers for their hard work and dedication. We appreciate the enthusiasm and support of our volunteers, and we hope to continue working together to improve our community.
