Food Distribution By Prakriti Foundation Help Battle Food Insecurity & Covid-19

Malnutrition is a serious problem throughout the world, especially among children. According to the World Health Organization, most of the children especially between the age of one to ten years often suffer from undernourishment due lack of balanced diet. Some of them are even dying at certain age due to diseases. Malnutrition can cause stunting, wasting, and micro-nutrient deficiencies. It is also a major contributor to child mortality.

Orphanages in developing countries are indicating that they cannot afford to buy food, despite the fact that it is available and affordable. This was part of the finding from a study by the World Food Program (WFP) which looked at food distributions in 19 countries. The WFP found that while food is available, it is un-affordable for many of the poorest people. This leaves them struggling to get by, and often resorting to dangerous measures like begging.

The Orphanages indicated that due to chronic poverty, they could not afford to buy food. The food they pointed to un-affordable though available in the market includes; bread, rice and meat to mention, but a few orphanages fails to provide these foods on daily basis.

Thus, analyzing all the events out there Prakriti Foundation took a step to help out and identify needy people outside and through orphan age homes, old age home, etc., where these homes do not have a source of funding. Prakriti Foundation is supporting orphan age homes, needy people, needy students, old age homes and other victimized people with food, water and other basic needs.

Support Provided to Migrant Workers During Covid-19 Lock-down

During Covid-19 lock-down, 100 million migrant workers in India – 20% of the workforce means nearly 2 crores people were needy and were moving back to their home towns. From that 2 crores Prakriti Foundation help 20000 people with food facilities and 6000 people with transportation to their home towns.

Helping Patients From Other States During Lock-down

During COVID-19 pandemic that not only workers were into the hands of lock-down, few patients from other states were also into the lock-down. Patients came from other state were not able to go to their places or hometown because of sudden announcement of lock-down. Few patients in the middle of their treatment process were worried about the future sequences. These all situation effected these people very badly. Non-local Patients didn’t had money to state at hotels, even if they want to stay or have money to secure themselves under a roof, they were afraid of virus and the precautions. Few people who weren’t having money were on roads, where they could not go back to home town nor can stay in the same place. People were suffering from food, shelter, and proper medical help in that situation. People who weren’t affordable to secure their lives were on platform. The researcher observed these situations and move forward to even help these people, as they were prone to the virus. Because of the treatment they went, their body and health condition would not be stable to fight with the virus at that stage. Prakriti Foundation stepped out to find out needy patients. But in the very first stage of identification of the needy people was difficult as self-problems of people is huge when compared to other. So, identifying real needed people was though for the researcher. Through the analysis of observed data, the researcher turned out to help them by providing food and transportation back to their home town. Around 500 patients were identified and provided with food and arranged transportation for mentioned 500 patients. The researcher joined Prakriti foundation and supported all these activities to facilitate needy people. In the below fig, it explains how the researcher joining hands with Prakriti foundation managed to help out people with food in those pandemic situations. The researcher main aim was to satisfy the needy people with quality of basic needs. We are not here to mention numbers as few showcases it. We help out even one we do it with quality and whole heartily, such that they fulfill what they are expecting.

Support Provided for Students From Other States

Facilitation offered to Non-local Students

Students from the outside the state or place, missing their homes, during this pandemic as they could be with their family much safer than they were at that situation. Student’s position were venerable as they were not able to go to college because of the pandemic situation outside nor they were allowed to go back to their home places. Few students were working part-time and continuing their studies, these people were into trouble badly, as they were not having money neither to eat nor for paying rent. Students getting money from their parents were also into trouble, as they were spending money for rent for no use. They were not having college, they can do anything other than staying safely at home, if they were with their family, they might be safe and save money even. Students were out with food and transportation. Even Single parental children who are not able to go for studies because of monetary issues. Single mother suffers a lot to bring up their children to a position where they don’t have to suffer. Parent work at different level of job styles and earn money. Still, they will be lacking to offered their children for education, or even sometime fail to achieve. Eventually, a few circumstances arise when parent can’t even provide basic need. When this is a case, educational offering does not even come front as a necessity. The researcher with the help of Prakriti Foundation identify people who are passionate of becoming successful, we provide them with education, food, transportation etc., standing in a supportive force. Prakriti Foundation identified students from outside state, for example students not from Bangalore say for instance a student is from Delhi came here for studies, the students may face issues regarding rental problem, books, uniforms, fees etc., the researcher identified those important factors that affect them and help out them in an effective way. The researcher locates people outside relevant place would be prioritizing once. As we have a limited source, we have to prioritize the helping circumstances. Around 2000 students were identified and provided with food and arranged transportation for 1000 needy students.

During this pandemic situation got worst, as people can’t meet each other, can’t go anywhere they are interested to. These situations led orphans age home a bit low as there were no people for helping them with food. Prakriti Foundation main aim was to satisfy the needy people with quality of basic needs. Prakriti foundation and supported all these activities to facilitate needy people. Covid-19 has posed as a challenge to humanity and the only way we can overcome this is if we stand together as a society. Prakriti Foundation shown the way that if citizens join the hands with the government, we can achieve the unimaginable results. In this pandemic situation, we supported to the affected people during this time of crisis. During this pandemic situation we have supported more than 30000+ people from different parts of India especially in Karnataka.
