Kali Puja is a Hindu festival that celebrates the goddess Kali. People celebrate with their families, but orphans feel left out because they don’t have anyone to celebrate with. This is because they are not part of a family. Some people might compare this to being left out at school during a birthday party, because you are not part of the group who is celebrating.
Kali Puja Celebration At Prakriti Foundation
Kali Puja is a Hindu festival celebrated in honour of the Goddess Kali. The festival falls on the dark moon night of the month of Kartik (October/November) and lasts for five days. On the first day, devotees offer prayers to Kali and perform a special ritual known as Kumari Puja. The next three days are devoted to fasting and chanting mantras in praise of Kali.
Prakriti Foundation works extensively in the field of socio-economic development. Apart from this, Prakriti Foundation also arranges cultural activities such as celebrating festivals to boost their energy levels and motivate our members or team. Our cultural activities involve social activities too. This not only helps us in staying connected with the society but also helps us in our cause.
Celebrating Kali Puja With Orphanage & Old Age Homes
Prakriti Foundation loves to involve orphaned children in its cultural events. We often invite orphanages to participate so that the kids can enjoy the festivities and feel loved and supported and we ensure that they can make connections to the outside world and learn new things. Also Prakriti Foundation has come up with an innovative idea to bring orphanages and old-age homes together. This way, the elderly can participate in festivals and rituals with the orphans, and some can even act as mother or father figures to them. The foundation believes that this will help reduce loneliness and isolation among the elderly, and also provide emotional support to the orphans.
