Prakriti Foundation is a non-profit organization that helps orphanages and underprivileged children in India. We provide food, clothing, education, and healthcare to these children. Prakriti Foundation also helps the orphanages find sponsors who can help with the day-to-day care of the children.
Helping Orphanages
The challenge is how to raise money to pay school fees and other scholastic materials required by the schools. However, most of the primary schools were receiving government support through the systems but still it was unable to meet other necessary requirement such as uniforms, development fees and teachers’ incentives. Besides the provision of school fees through systems by the government towards things like teacher’s incentives and maintenance fees. Lack in material resources is like which is not available or less availability of Pencils, erasers, books or the study materials, chairs, tables or the separate space or reading room and even some times food, clothes and much more, in which orphans has to suffer sometimes to attain the schools in the regular basis, this makes them feel ignored sometimes by the community.
When we speak about help, everyone will get some money and say a word helped and leave the matter then and there itself. Prakriti Foundation never comes front in giving money or help based on economic forces. It is not that Prakriti Foundation doesn’t provide monetary support, but very few times, where it is necessary for financial strength, there Prakriti Foundation utilizes money-spending activities directly.
For instance, students in orphanage homes need any monetary benefits, such as school, books, uniforms, tuition fees, etc., where economic factors play a vital role. But, even in these cases, the Prakriti Foundation does not give direct money. Prakriti Foundation analyses the need as to which conditions are essential and prioritizes it first. If we take tuition fee as a prioritized necessity, Prakriti Foundation deals with the school directly regarding all fee structure and make out a procedural remedy as:
For example, if 100rs is the tuition fee, we have a conversation with the school authorities regarding fee structure and request them to reduce the fee amount or relieve the amount. The school authority people can give a discount for the needy students.
If the Prakriti Foundation gives money for help, there will be a lot of miscommunication between the students, the orphanage, and our foundation. Money mislead may also happen as schools might contact only the orphanage homes the same as Prakriti Foundation will also connect to the orphan houses. There communication barriers related to information may occur.
Thus, direct monetary funding can take as negligible from the Prakriti Foundation.
Books distributions Supported By Prakriti Foundation
Prakriti Foundation checks with the school authorities whether they have provided a book or not. Is there any funding from any sources regarding school books? Our background research runs in each part of the practical usage of limited resources.
If no books are provided from the schools or no other funding regarding these schools happen, we search for the publication or distribute books for free. If we contact the free distribution of books, we share the number with the orphanage home or connect with them directly and see to it all relative books reach the students. Ultimately, students or orphanage homes, or any needy people need help. There is no required source of support.
Internal & External Support by Prakriti Foundation
Prakriti Foundation supports outside activities as prioritized support. When we say external support, we have to see how many kinds of support the Prakriti Foundation does.
Prakriti Foundation supports directly, with money a few times or contact schools and get connected to the school regarding refunding or sharing the school fee 50 percent. Apart from this external support, we provide internally indirect support regarding virtually needs, including sponsorship support. For instance, for schoolbooks, either we talk to schools for help that comes under external licenses or raises funds in sponsorships. Suppose any group of people or organizations or small companies come forward and want to support school uniforms, books, clothing, or food. We show a reference regarding the orphanage home. They can direct to an orphanage home and serve their service or Prakriti foundation; they can also help. This kind of support comes under indirect license, by saying the Prakriti foundation does not support them directly but get funds raised to fulfil their requirements.
Apart from internal support and external support regarding books and fees with basic facilities, prakriti foundation helped with few Uniforms, Cloths, Shoe, etc.
Involving Orphanages in Cultural Activities
Prakriti Foundation invites orphan age homes when cultural activities are conducted. The reason behind it is because when the children come out, it would be a relief for them or if we organize with in the orphan age home then they get a chance of communicating with outer people where they can learn many things. The other reason is to fulfill their desires such as eating good food or variety of food, wearing new cloths, etc. We conduct competitions to make our-self a way to fulfill their desires such that no other child feels bad when they do not get anything. We can make them learn about competition and being happy when others or their friends win. Another reason is to fulfill their emotional bonding side, many children may don’t even know about their parents or their love, this is when PF had an innovative idea to bring orphan age home and old age home together where they can participate in festivals with all rituals with each other, where some once can be mother or father or grandparents or uncle or aunt etc., taking kids to them make both side happy and sharing love.
This means that wherever or whenever we organize cultural activities, we invite orphanage homes to celebrate with us. Where we serve them, with new dresses fulfilling them desires, and provide good quality food. As we discussed in chapter 5 where PF try to fulfil their desire by conducing few competitions at these times or celebrate, children would not feel bad when one of their frien-ds get a gift or prize with in the competition. This creative idea raised due to one of the experiences of PF in orphan age homes i.e., one of the member in the orphan age home experiences shared with us as in a birthday celebration of a young child organized in orphan age home, as people generally celebrate birthday functions or any other function there with them by providing good food, return gifts etc., But they don’t realize when their kid wear good dresses or have expensive items with them even children in orphan age home desire them to get it. But its known fact that they can’t own it. PF saw that they found the birthday persons dress so attractive and even felt so bad as they know they do not get that kind of dress because of their circumstances. They can’t even express out their feeling. When we heard about the experience of the member in the orphan age home, we decided to give them high quality dresses so that they reach their desire level. But, prakriti foundation have no enough funding to support each and every child in the orphan age member, we decided to have some competitions, cultural events, etc., so that as on name of prize distribution we can fulfil their desires.
We don’t want to give less expensive things to everyone, but believe giving valuable items to at least one member. Supporting with new dresses does not mean any low-quality dresses. We buy brand new dresses and distribute them with in our funding’s. But, Prakriti Foundation analyzing the facts and identifying the ways to fulfil try to achieve their imaginative to reality. Prakriti Foundation not only fulfill just needs or wants it makes up to the desire level to. Apart from all these to meet their desires we distribute new dresses for occupations like Diwali, Desersa etc., We take fruits for them and distribute among them.
Support during Covid-19
During this pandemic situation got worst, as people can’t meet each other, can’t go anywhere they are interested to. These situations led orphans age home a bit low as there were no people for helping them with food. Prakriti Foundation main aim was to satisfy the needy people with quality of basic needs. We are not here to mention numbers as few showcases it. We help out even one we do it with quality and whole heartily, such that they fulfill what they are expecting. Prakriti foundation and supported all these activities to facilitate needy people. In the below fig, it explains how the researcher joining hands with Prakriti Foundation managed to help out people with food in those pandemic situations. The researcher main aim was to satisfy the needy people with quality of basic needs. We are not here to mention numbers as few showcases it. We help out even one we do it with quality and whole heartily, such that they fulfill what they are expecting.
Covid-19 has posed as a challenge to humanity and the only way we can overcome this is if we stand together as a society. PRAKRITI FOUNDATION shown the way that if citizens join the hands with the government, we can achieve the unimaginable results. In this pandemic situation, we supported to the affected people during this time of crisis. During this pandemic situation we have supported more than 30000+ people from different parts of India especially in Karnataka. The citizens and the government staff have made more than 5,20,000 house visits cumulatively in the last 50 days. As every individual is aware of covid-19 spread.
